               The Magic of Prayer

When the trials of this life, make you weary

And your troubles seem too much to bear,

There’s a wonderful solace and comfort in the silent communion of prayer.

When you’ve searched for the sun without ceasing

And the showers continue to fall,

There’s a heavenly lift in this wonderful gift

That God has extended to all.

From the magic of prayer there comes power

That will minimize all of your care,

And you’ll gather new hope when

you’re able to cope

With the troubles that once brought

despair.

So lift up your heart to the heavens

There’s a loving and kind Father there Who offers release and comfort and peace

In the silent communion of prayer.

          .                               Heart Blessings

  Pathways to a Healthy Church

The annual Pathways to a Healthy Church event is designed to equip local churches with practical, quality training that will help you fulfill the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ.  Set for August 14 at Trinity UMC in Warner Robins, this training will offer over 40 workshops and 6 all-day workshops designed to help congregations become healthier.  It is the prayer of the Connectional Ministries Council that those who attend this day of training will be stimulated with new ideas that will work in their ministry setting, recommitted to their role as spiritual leaders, and empowered to go forth to offer vision-driven leadership.  Bishop James King will be leading a beginning session for all participants.
